Jonathan loves the story his mother tells about his birth. "You were a most wanted chaild," she always begins.

The day Jonathan was adopted, the storks nested on his parents' roof. His mother says the storks brought him in answer to her dreams. Jonathan know the story is a myth, but he believes it just the same.

Now his family has moved back to Germany, to the town where he was born. Janathan is looking forward to seeing the storks, but there's no sign of them. They have stopped nesting in the town. Worse yet, the kids in his new school laugh at the story of his birth. A boy named Robert laughs loudest: "Storks don't bring babies!"

Jonathan is sure he can prove he's right. He begins to build a nest to lure the storks back to town and finds he has an unexpected ally. If only the storks will come, Jonathan knows they can bring him the luck to make his secret wish come true!
